WAMHS

The Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools (WAMHS) project is an initiative led by the CAMHS Alliance with the support of the Children and Young People’s Integrated Commissioning work stream in City & Hackney.

This innovative service aims to improve mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people in schools, colleges, specialist and alternative provision education settings in City & Hackney.

A Welcome from Our Wellbeing Worker

Hello Mossbourne Community!

I am Dr Joe Vacher and I am a Clinical Psychologist. I am very excited to be working with Mossbourne Parkside Academy every other Monday, in which I will be the ‘CAMHS Worker in School’ supporting the Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools (WAMHS) project.

My role will involve working closely with the school system to promote and embed understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Whilst I will not be providing direct interventions, my role will include providing training and consultation regarding mental health for teachers, promoting relationships with local healthcare providers so that onward referrals are easier to access, and developing mental health resources to be used by children, parents, and teachers. With this whole-school approach, we really hope that the wellbeing of every member of the Mossbourne community will be nurtured in every aspect of school life.

I really look forward to meeting you all soon!

Very best wishes,

Joe
